Just open Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram or your mailbox. Many companies, B2C but also B2B, go along with current events and therefore Valentine's Day. Certainly if you have to have a business of online sales. Sometimes you no longer see the forest for the trees. Valentine's Day can be the time for you as a marketing specialist or marketing professional to put your brand extra in the spotlights.

Marketplace and the holidays inhaker

Research* shows that 61% of the Dutch are sensitive to commercial days and discount promotions. Logical that brands wonder how you can respond to this in the best way. But does it make sense for you? Does it fit your purpose, the Why? (We wrote an earlier blog about this) Or do you do it because your manager asks? For example, to stimulate sales last minute? Or because the competitor does that too and you should not be missing. So you have to come up with something on the couple and jump. If there is a match between current events and your brand, we will certainly advise you to respond to this.

For example with a temporary action or a more social approach. Stay close to your brand promise, your target group is happy to commit to strong brands that radiate authenticity. A good example is Marktplaats and the holidays. It is very clear what they stand for: reusing things. This is linked to the gift tradition of Sinterklaas and Christmas. Do you not see a match with the commercial day and your brand? Don't do it! It happens regularly; that the mark will completely miss out on an ill -considered pick -up. It is essential to choose the hooking days that match your brand values and objectives.
